Find a hearing aid that fits your life

Starting from fully covered basic PRSI models. Advanced models from €350 per aid after the PRSI grant (€850 per aid before the grant).

Today’s hearing aids come in a wide range of styles, from nearly invisible custom devices worn in the ear canal to powerful rechargeable models worn behind the ear. The right choice depends on your hearing test, ear shape, dexterity, lifestyle, communication needs and personal preferences.

At your hearing consultation, we can help you compare suitable styles, features and manufacturers, then professionally fit and fine-tune the option that is right for you.

Hearing-aid styles explained

  • RIC / RITE

A small device worn behind the ear, with a fine wire leading to a receiver in the ear canal.

Typical benefits: Broad choice of rechargeable, connected and high-performance technology.

Keep in mind: The device is visible behind the ear, although modern designs are very discreet.

  • BTE

A behind-the-ear device connected to the ear with a slim tube or earmould.

Typical benefits: More power, easier handling and secure fitting options.

Keep in mind: Usually larger than a RIC or RITE device.

  • ITE

A custom hearing aid that sits partly or fully in the outer ear.

Typical benefits: Easier handling, larger battery and space for rechargeable or wireless features.

Keep in mind: Larger than CIC and IIC options.

  • ITC

    An in-the-canal custom hearing aid.

Typical benefits: More room for controls, microphones and battery capacity than CIC.

Keep in mind: More visible than an IIC or CIC.

  • CIC

A completely-in-canal hearing aid, custom-made or ready-to-wear depending on model.

    Typical benefits: Discreet in-ear fit.

Keep in mind: Features, battery type and connectivity vary greatly by model.

  • IIC

An invisible-in-canal custom hearing aid placed deeply in the ear canal.

    Typical benefits: Maximum discretion.

Keep in mind: Not suitable for every ear canal or hearing loss. Often battery-powered and non-wireless.

  • Ready CIC

A small in-canal device fitted with instant-fit sleeves rather than a custom shell.

Typical benefits: Quick fitting and discreet appearance.

Keep in mind: It is not made from an impression of the individual ear.
