Booking and the first visit
You do not need a GP letter for a private hearing test. We see people aged 12 and over. The visit lasts about 45 to 60 minutes. Bring any current hearing aids, a list of medicines if you take them, and your PPS number if you may use the PRSI Treatment Benefit scheme.
Money and grants
The hearing test is free. Wax removal is €60 in clinic or €100 at home. PRSI can take up to €500 per ear, €1,000 for both ears, off at the till when you qualify, once every four years. Keep receipts if you later claim Revenue Med 1 relief.
