Hearing aid repairs and clinic aftercare

Hearing aids are worn every day. Tubes block, receivers fail, and programmes drift as your hearing or your life changes. HearMed offers repair support and aftercare through our clinics for patients we fit, and we can advise on next steps if you bring aids bought elsewhere.

Every HearMed fitting carries a standard four-year manufacturer warranty. Free batteries for life and free servicing while your aids are under warranty are included with paid hearing aids; fully covered basic PRSI models are not included in those two offers.

What we can check in clinic

We inspect the shell or mould, tubing, filters, microphones and receiver. We clean where possible, replace consumable parts when stocked, and test whether the aid is amplifying as expected. Many “dead” aids are blocked wax filters or flattened batteries.

Warranty and money-back context

HearMed fittings include a four-year manufacturer warranty and a 60-day money-back period if the first fit is not right. Warranty covers manufacturing faults under the maker's terms. Accidental damage, loss and wear parts may sit outside warranty. We will say which category your issue falls into before any chargeable work.

When aids need to leave the clinic

If a repair must go to a manufacturer or lab, we discuss timelines and, where we can, temporary loaner aids so you are not left without support. Programming after return is part of normal aftercare when you were fitted with us.

PRSI and repairs

If you qualify for Treatment Benefit, ask us whether a repair grant element applies to your case under current scheme rules. Hearing-aid grants themselves are up to €500 per ear, €1,000 for both ears once every four years when you qualify. Bring your PPS number when money questions matter.
