Honest prices for tests, wax removal and hearing aids

Hearing care should not feel like a mystery bill. HearMed publishes the figures that matter before you book: the hearing test is free, wax removal has fixed clinic and home prices, and hearing aids start from models that can be fully covered by PRSI when you qualify.

We see people aged 12 and over. No GP referral is needed for a private hearing test. After the test we give a written quote if aids would help, so you can decide with the numbers in front of you.

Free hearing test

A full clinic hearing test at HearMed takes about 45 to 60 minutes and costs nothing. We look in the ears first, then test in a quiet booth, including speech in noise when it helps. You leave with an explanation of the audiogram in ordinary words. Aids are only suggested when they are genuinely needed.

Ear wax removal

Wax removal is €60 in clinic and €100 at home. We use microsuction, not syringing. If wax is blocking the canal, we clear it before we run a hearing test so the result is honest.

Hearing aids and PRSI

Hearing aids start from fully covered basic PRSI models when you qualify. Advanced models start from €350 per aid after the PRSI grant (€850 before the grant). The Treatment Benefit grant is up to €500 per ear, €1,000 for both ears, once every four years, when you qualify. Bring your PPS number and we take the grant off at the till.

Aftercare included

New aids come with a four-year manufacturer warranty, a 60-day money-back period if the fit is not right, and free batteries for life on paid aids. Servicing during the warranty period is free for paid aids.
