Who this Tullamore test is for
Adults and teens aged 12 and over who notice the TV creeping up, struggle in restaurants, or want a baseline before buying aids. Offaly residents often use Tullamore as their regular base rather than travelling to Dublin.
Children under 12 go through HSE paediatric audiology. Medical-card HSE pathways are separate and usually need a GP letter plus a waitlist.
What happens at HearMed Tullamore
Your audiologist starts with otoscopy, then a full booth test in the Patrick Street rooms. The visit takes about 45 to 60 minutes. Results are explained the same day in plain English.
If wax is blocking the canal, we say so before tones are played. You can clear wax here first (Ear wax removal is €60 in clinic. Home wax removal is €100.) and rebook the test when the ear is clear.

Pricing approach
The clinic hearing test is free. There is no charge for explaining the audiogram or for an honest view on whether aids would help.
PRSI grant: up to €500 per ear, €1,000 for both ears, once every four years. Bring your PPS number if you want eligibility checked at the till.
